About The Position

The Insurance & Risk Administrator provides day‑to‑day support for the organization’s insurance programs, risk management activities, and claims processes. This entry‑level role assists with policy administration, insurance compliance, data collection for underwriting, and coordination with internal teams, brokers, and carriers. The position ensures accurate documentation, helps maintain risk‑related records, and supports the timely handling of claims and insurance requirements across the company.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Prior insurance experience (insurance administration, brokerage, underwriting assistant, claims assistant, or similar) is required.
  • Foundational knowledge of insurance (coverage types, basic policy structures, certificates, endorsements) is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic insurance documents and COIs.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with risk management systems is a plus.
  • Exposure to claims processes or insurance compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration of the Company’s insurance programs, including Property, General Liability, Construction, Auto, Workers’ Compensation, Cyber, EPLI, Directors & Officers, and other lines of coverage.
  • Assist in gathering underwriting information, preparing renewal submissions, and coordinating with insurance brokers and carriers.
  • Maintain insurance files, schedules, certificates of insurance (COIs), policy logs, and renewal calendars.
  • Review, track, and follow up on vendor, tenant, and contractor COIs to ensure compliance with Company requirements.
  • Support first‑party and auto claim reporting by gathering documentation, filing claims, and coordinating with adjusters.
  • Assist in reviewing contracts for basic insurance compliance and risk‑transfer requirements.
  • Monitor insurance inboxes, respond to routine inquiries, and escalate complex matters to the Manager.
  • Help collect and organize data for budgeting, premium allocations, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within risk management platforms (Evident, Yardi, Indio, or similar).
  • Conduct basic research on insurance markets, products, and coverage benchmarking.
  • Provide administrative support for safety initiatives, incident tracking, and claims trend reporting.
  • Assist with other insurance and risk‑related tasks as assigned.
