About The Position

The Administrative Assistant III position at Lamar University provides comprehensive administrative support to the Vice President/CIO and the Leadership Team within the Information Technology Department. Requirements

  • Associate's degree.
  • Two years of relevant administrative experience in a related field.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with accurate results.
  • Expert knowledge of office management skills.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and Internet navigation.
  • Ability to word process at least 55 words per minute.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively interact with students, customers, vendors, and the general public.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with fellow employees and supervisors.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience in an educational setting preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for the Vice President/CIO and the Leadership Team.
  • Manage correspondence, prepare documents, and handle inquiries for multiple executives and departments.
  • Coordinate calendar events and maintain schedules for executives.
  • Process timesheets, EPAFs, onboarding, terminations, and bi-weekly payroll for student, hourly, and part-time workers.
  • Assist in gathering data and processing annual reports, responding to questionnaires, surveys, and BOR reports.
  • Prepare travel requests and manage expenditures for the VP/CIO and IT employees.
  • Plan events such as TSUS CIO meetings, divisional luncheons, and holidays.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, support inventory management, and assist with special projects.
