About The Position

The position is for a Receptionist, Image Librarian, and limited Scheduler in a Radiology department. The incumbent will be responsible for a full complement of front-end processes including reception, image library management, and onsite scheduling. Duties include registering and arriving patients, obtaining clinical information, collecting cash/insurance and authorization information, digitizing hardcopy images, creating hardcopy and/or CDs of images, and retrieving comparison studies. The role requires multitasking and flexibility while working as part of a team in various Radiology areas.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with staff, faculty, fellows, residents, and patients.
  • Ability to establish comfortable relationships with patients and their family members.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the absence of superiors.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and handle a heavy workload.
  • Strong working knowledge of personal computers and relevant software (HIS, RIS, LORAD, PACSCUBE CD Burner, Array Digitizer).
  • Skill in typing with accuracy and moderate speed.
  • Ability to use mathematical skills for data analysis related to workload and finance.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology for scheduling patient procedures.
  • Basic organizational skills for efficient office management.
  • Skill in analyzing information to define problems and formulate conclusions.
  • Ability to handle confidentiality issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to read and write business correspondence using proper grammar.
  • Working knowledge of hospital/billing forms and ability to explain services to patients.
  • Skill in quickly assimilating and retaining financial screening and patient registration information.

Responsibilities
