About The Position

The Administrative Assistant II at St. Augustine Cathedral Parish is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support activities under the direction of the pastor, business manager, or school principal. This role requires independent work, leadership, and collaboration with staff to support the pastoral and spiritual mission of the Diocese and the Catholic Church, while adhering to Catholic principles in both professional and personal conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Two to five years' experience in a high activity environment as a secretary or administrative assistant or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong human relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including mail merge capabilities.
  • Ability to type 50 WPM and proficient with a 10-key calculator.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the pastoral and spiritual mission of the Diocese and the Catholic Church.
  • Work independently as a lead person and provide proactive administrative support as requested.
  • Collaborate positively and professionally with all employees and those served.
  • Display leadership and personal initiative in coordinating and facilitating support with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Maintain and respect the privacy of individuals supported.
  • Handle incoming mail, calls, and visitors professionally, screening requests for information.
  • Prioritize, coordinate, and schedule calendar requests, ensuring accuracy.
  • Provide support to the board of directors, preparing materials, minutes, and maintaining records.
  • Prepare reports for the board and executive director as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
