About The Position

The City of Peoria has an excellent opportunity for an Administrative Assistant II in the Fire-Medical Department. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for Fire-medical Staff and customer service to internal and external customers. This is accomplished by performing data entry and correspondence, compiling, and preparing reports and research, indexing records, and performing general accounting functions.

Requirements

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask
  • Experienced with creating and editing spreadsheets, reports, databases and presentations
  • Skilled with writing and proofreading
  • Able to develop, design and track forms
  • Experienced with timekeeping, payroll, accounts payable and receivable
  • Experienced with monitoring and reconciling expenditures
  • Experienced in scheduling meetings, taking notes, and preparing minutes
  • Ability to work with confidential documents
  • High School graduation or equivalency
  • 2 years’ experience with doing comparable level 2 responsibilities.
  • Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
  • The job requires a sound knowledge of common and uncommon techniques, concepts, methods, practices, use of forms, routines, etc., of complex nature.
