The Administrative Assistant position at NORDAM involves applying thorough knowledge of basic office processes and a basic understanding of administrative concepts, practices, and procedures. The role includes performing a wide variety of routine administrative and clerical tasks in functional areas such as finance, purchasing, or human resources, or for a specific project, business, or technical unit.

  • Plans and accomplishes a complete range of assignments and tasks that are generally routine to moderately complex.
  • Performs a variety of routine administrative/clerical tasks in functional areas such as finance, purchasing, or human resources.
  • Compiles records, tracks and verifies accuracy of data, and uses a computer to generate reports, tables, graphs, and correspondence.
  • Operates word processor or personal computer equipment to generate tables, charts, memorandums, reports, and other material requiring speed and accuracy.
  • Sets up and maintains alphabetical, numerical, and subject filing systems.
  • Gathers information from multiple sources and reconciles report discrepancies.
  • May design processes to enhance workflow.
  • Gathers information, prepares routine reports, and composes routine correspondence.
  • Performs other duties as required, which may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
  • Minimum High School or GED.
  • 2-4 years of clerical experience.
  • Basic knowledge of company policies and practices.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Requires passing a basic computer assessment test.
  • Three (3) to six (6) months of college education.
