The Administrative Assistant I plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the designated department at Children's Minnesota. This position involves a variety of administrative tasks that support the department's functions and assist managers in their daily activities. The role is essential for maintaining effective communication, organization, and efficiency within the team.

  • Answering telephones
  • Greeting and directing visitors
  • Maintaining and scheduling appointment calendars
  • Handling various forms of mail (i.e. paper, email, overnight express, fax)
  • Ordering office supplies and furnishings
  • Arranging for equipment repairs
  • Maintaining filing systems and/or computerized record keeping systems and/or databases
  • Completing standardized forms
  • Handling all confidential correspondence and inter-department communications
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • High school degree or GED required
  • One-year experience in a general office setting or completion of specialized training/certification in the administrative professional field required
  • Previous experience and demonstrated competency in MS Office Suite applications
  • Strong oral and written interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in a healthcare/hospital setting preferred
