Provides secretarial support to the College of Agriculture, Science and Nursing.
Requirements
Excellent typing and quantitative skills necessary.
Experience with computer applications and accounting a plus.
Be familiar with agriculture.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Composes and types routine correspondence.
May take and/or transcribe dictation in shorthand.
Receives, reads, and routes incoming mail to department staff.
Maintains files of correspondence and other records.
Answers telephone and answers routine questions or routes calls to appropriate staff members.
Schedules appointments and keeps appointment calendars for Dean; makes travel arrangements for department.
Gathers time cards, reviews for correctness, and submits to payroll office.
Accounting for budgets in agriculture. Prepares requisitions and processes invoices for payment for the COASN.
Maintains inventory of all livestock owned by the university farm, prepares cattle weaning and yearling weights for the associations, and registers cattle and sheep with the associations.
Assists in all areas of the College of Agriculture, Science and Nursing.
Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community.
Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible.
Must be able to lift more than 50-lb. objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
Can be exposed to a variety of weather conditions for periods of time.
Ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
Other duties as assigned by Vice President of Academic Affairs or his/her designee.
