About The Position

The Curatorial Administrative Assistant supports the daily operations of the Curatorial Department and works closely with the museum’s curators, particularly the Associate Curator and Associate Curator for Decorative Arts. We are seeking a highly motivated and exceptionally organized individual to execute administrative activities including: preparing materials for exhibitions and publications (including maintaining object lists and files; assisting with loan correspondence; requesting images and rights for print and digital use; and coordinating with departments across the institution on programming and promotional materials); organizing curatorial events (such as study days, symposia, and dinners); and processing expense reports. The position occasionally requires participation in curatorial events and programs, and includes interaction with the public and high-level donors. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to gain broad experience across all facets of curatorial work within a small and dynamic department.

Requirements

  • B.A. required.
  • Strong computer literacy in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Office Suite, is essential; experience with The Museum System (TMS) is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable training in Art History.
  • Working knowledge of foreign languages—particularly Italian and French—is desirable.
