About The Position

AEP is seeking talented and motivated Administrative Assistant Associate - Administrative Assistant Sr. to become an integral part of our team. Responsible for performing administrative support duties within the assigned area. Responsibilities are specific to the organizational unit (i.e. region, district, department, plant, etc.).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of administrative work experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency including the use of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to organize data and processes and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Six-nine months of post-high school experience in learning and utilizing administrative office procedures, practices, and equipment.
  • Experience in utilizing administrative office procedures, practices, and equipment.
  • Experience in varied business situations or circumstances which develop confidentiality, maturity, discretion, personal tact, judgment, and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Under immediate supervision, perform basic administrative duties, following well-defined, standard procedures.
  • Prepare documents, reports, and spreadsheets as needed to support the business unit.
  • Maintain files and calendars as needed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as other department software/systems as needed.
  • Listen to and understand written and verbal instruction, communicate effectively with co-workers and other employees and customers.
  • Work effectively and productively with others, actively helping others with assignments as necessary to maintain department productivity.
  • Answer customer questions; refer questions to others as needed; actively learn the function of the department to assist customers more effectively.
  • Apply basic education and training in job responsibilities and assignments; ask questions when unsure of how to handle an assignment.
