About The Position

The Administrative Assistant/Alternate Registrar position at the Township of East Brunswick involves performing a variety of administrative duties to support the Municipal Clerk and the department. Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Municipal Clerk.
  • Being a resource to the Municipal Clerk and assisting with various duties as needed.
  • Retrieving incoming mail.
  • Working with the Deputy Clerk to answer the phone and assist the public in person in a professional manner.
  • Processing Bingo and Raffle Licenses for the Township.
  • Processing animal licenses, retail food licenses, and temporary food licenses.
  • Handling all OPRA Requests for the Township.
  • Assisting the Deputy Clerk in maintaining monthly financial reports.
  • Maintaining the inventory of all supplies for the office.
  • Assisting the Township Clerk on various duties pertaining to the Primary Election, the General Election, and any other elections held in the Township of East Brunswick.
  • Records management: Processing archive requests for all departments within the Township.
  • Adding new boxes to the archive system maintained by the Township at the County Archives facility and requesting the destruction of records that have reached their retention period through the state system, Artemis.
  • Scheduling marriage license appointments.
  • Processing marriage license applications and licenses.
  • Processing vital record requests [birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates].
  • Reviewing documentations for accuracy (minutes, agenda, resolutions, letters, and other miscellaneous documents provided).
  • Handling regular and certified mail in large volumes.
  • Assisting the Deputy Clerk with accepting and processing various licenses and registrations.
  • Working late nights during the Primary and General Elections.
  • Working late during the Rabies Clinic.
