About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine seeks an Administrative Assistant 4 for its residency program in the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME). This position does not offer layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This lead role involves managing day-to-day operations, serves as a liaison for learners, faculty, staff and ACGME, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards. The Administrative Assistant 4 will assist in accreditation efforts, educational programming, and resident support and will collaborate with Program and GME Directors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to long-term planning, recruitment, project development and implementation, database management, communication with stakeholders at all levels, operational and financial management of the accredited/non-accredited residency/fellowship training program. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and personnel management skills, a thorough understanding of ACGME policies, and the capacity to make independent judgments and decisions.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in administrative/program support.
  • Experience in secretarial duties in support of a manager.
  • Experience coordinating communications between the manager, staff, and program clientele.
  • Supervision of subordinate staff.
  • Researching information from internal and external sources.
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
