About The Position

The Administrative Assistant 4 position at the University of Nevada, Reno, within the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources (CABNR), provides comprehensive administrative support to the Associate Deans for academic affairs and research. The role involves managing calendars, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and coordinating travel arrangements, while also supporting fiscal responsibilities and event coordination.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience.
  • Experience providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management.
  • Experience performing secretarial duties in support of a manager.
  • Experience coordinating communications between the manager, staff, and program clientele.
  • A valid Class 'C' driver's license or higher is required.

  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with Workday or similar HR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor calendars for the Associate Deans, scheduling meetings and appointments as requested.
  • Communicate detailed and complex information on behalf of the Associate Deans to various parties.
  • Draft correspondence and documents for the Associate Deans, preparing them for signatures and distribution.
  • Relay department information and organize documents received from others, initiating responses as needed.
  • Make domestic and foreign travel arrangements for the Associate Deans, processing all travel-related documents.
  • Research, compile, and organize documents, data, reports, and correspondence in support of the Associate Deans' projects.
  • Conduct special projects and research on behalf of Executive staff.
  • Assist with front desk coverage and duties as needed.
  • Coordinate fiscal, budgets, and accounting for Deans, preparing reports and maintaining databases.
  • Independently coordinate annual CABNR Field Day and collaborate on larger events.
  • Input student workers and faculty employee hires, terminations, and contract information in Workday.
  • Serve as search coordinator for all searches related to NAES and DFI.
