About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Administrative Assistant 3, Lee Business School [R0147639]. This position serves as the Administrative Assistant (AA) of the Department of Finance in the Lee Business School. This AA position will support faculty, students, and programming. The individual in this position plays a vital administrative and operational role in supporting the Department Chair and overall departmental functions. As a primary point of contact for the Chair, this position independently manages communications, schedules, and information flow, while ensuring sensitive data-ranging from financial reports to personnel matters-is handled with discretion and accuracy. The position also supports decision-making and strategic planning by gathering, analyzing, and presenting data related to department budgets, enrollment, faculty activity, and program effectiveness. This role is central to ensuring smooth department operations. Responsibilities include managing class scheduling processes in collaboration with the Chair and Registrar, responding to inquiries from students and faculty, maintaining accurate department records, and processing internal transactions through Workday. The position also processes purchases, tracks departmental expenditures, and serves as a liaison between the department and campus units or external contacts, such as alumni, donors, and service providers. Beyond administrative duties, the individual supports department events and operations, from orientations and graduation celebrations to faculty meetings and advisory board visits. This includes coordinating logistics such as facilities, supplies, and catering. The role also assists with special projects, streamlining office processes and supporting the department's public presence. Additionally, the position supports faculty and instructional staff by processing student employee and part-time instructor hiring paperwork, classroom logistics, and procurement of teaching materials. The individual often serves as a knowledgeable resource for students, helping them navigate enrollment, program requirements, and departmental procedures. This role requires strong initiative, professionalism, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a dynamic academic environment. This position is considered essential and not eligible for a Flexible Work Schedule (FWS).
