Job Description The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 for the Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC). This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. Responsibilities include securing housing for newly arriving refugees, assisting with apartment/home setup for move-in, and facilitating core services during the initial 90-day arrival phase. The Administrative Assistant 2 will support eligible clients with accessing medical, health, employment, education, and other essential social services as requested during the post-90-day arrival period. Additionally, the role involves providing transportation for clients to appointments related to health, employment, welfare, education, and other social services as required. This position will also represent NNIC professionally in interactions with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as non-profit partners. This position will also document all expenditures, assist the financial team with posting financial transactions, ensure that case files comply with federal regulations, attend trainings and contractual meetings, supervise case aides and other positions, attend staff meetings and other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • graduation from high school or equivalent education
  • two (2) years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
  • A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • This position is required to transport clients to appointments related to refugee assistance.
