The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant 1 within the Student Academic Success, Division of Health Sciences. The Administrative Assistant 1 (AA1) plays a crucial role in providing administrative support to the Advising Center of the Division of Health Sciences. This position requires a professional demeanor as the AA1 will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, handling general telephone inquiries and directing them to the appropriate advisors and staff members. The AA1 is responsible for responding to voicemail and general information requests, ensuring that accurate information is provided in a timely manner. Additionally, the AA1 will greet staff, students, visitors, and suppliers in a friendly and professional manner, contributing to a welcoming environment. In terms of clerical duties, the AA1 will assist with the management of incoming and outgoing petitions, semester enrollment forms, and campus mail and courier deliveries. The role also involves supporting the Administrative Assistant III by scanning and uploading documents to student records, creating and maintaining student files, and ensuring the data entry and maintenance of online drop paperwork and telephone logs. Scheduling is another key responsibility, as the AA1 will manage student appointments in Campus Connect, coordinate office staff meetings, and run daily reports. The AA1 will also assist with the scheduling of BSN Signing Sessions for each application cycle and the creation of New Student Orientation packets, along with any additional projects that may arise. The AA1 will communicate with various departments and offices within the campus community regarding pertinent policies and procedures, maintaining a professional and courteous manner at all times. Confidentiality is paramount when dealing with student information. This position contributes to the core mission of Academic Affairs, which is to increase enrollment and promote equitable student success by addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support.
