The Department of Human Services, Allegheny County Assistance Office is seeking a meticulous and organized Administrative Assistant to join their team of committed professionals. In this role, you will serve as a vital liaison between the Allegheny County executive team, district offices, local community partners, and various internal and external stakeholders. This position offers an opportunity to leverage your administrative skills in a fulfilling public service role, contributing to the effective operation of the Office of Income Maintenance programs in Allegheny County. As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support to the Executive Director. Your responsibilities will include answering and screening calls from county offices, providing requested information, and directing callers to the appropriate sources. You will also be tasked with recording and editing minutes from various meetings, maintaining a tracking file for work assignments and staff complaints, and providing reminders to colleagues. Additionally, you will help compile and review data before final submission, keep files updated and accessible, and seek guidance on policy, procedure, and directive interpretations. Flexibility is crucial in this role, as the nature of the work can change rapidly due to external influences, time constraints, or shifting priorities. This full-time position requires a commitment to public service and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 60-minute lunch break. The starting salary for this position ranges from $44,890.00 to $67,678.00 annually, and in some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
