The Administrative Assistant II position at Utah Valley University is focused on organizing community education classes for the Wasatch campus. This role involves performing moderately complex and confidential administrative duties under general supervision, requiring a thorough understanding of organizational policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful, and possess strong communication skills to contribute to the growth and success of community education at UVU.

  • Perform moderately complex and confidential administrative work such as entering student data and maintaining records.
  • Schedule appointments and compose routine correspondence.
  • Obtain and provide factual information requiring knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Organize community education classes for the Wasatch campus with support from the Community Education department.
  • Assist the Wasatch Campus Director as needed and perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree and one year of experience; OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.
  • Knowledge of best standards practice relating to position and assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of computers and computer software applications including Banner, Access databases, e-mail, internet, presentations, MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Publisher, Word and Outlook.
  • Skills in office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
  • Skills in customer service and professionalism.
  • Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet and work with people of diverse backgrounds.
