This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth, TX. This position provides administrative support to the Senior Vice President Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer and the HR/M team. This position also serves as coordinator for the BNSF Hardship Program and administers the BNSF Tuition Reimbursement program. Daily work is conducted in a safety indoor office environment. Requirements

  • Able to work now and in the future without BNSF's assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
  • 3 years of prior administrative assistant experience required.
  • Strong proofreading, editing, and grammar skills required.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to work well independently and in a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); i.e., electronic mail, calendar functions, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics software applications.
  • Must be able to handle confidential matters discreetly.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of management
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently working toward a degree, or continued education, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • EXECUTIVE SUPPORT: Telephone coverage, arrange executive meetings and travel, schedule and maintain executive itineraries and calendar, coordinate and maintain appointment schedules. Ad hoc projects to support the executive. Prepare, proofread, and distribute correspondence.
  • STRATEGIC: Maintain and distribute a department itinerary. Assist in arranging HR town hall and leadership meetings, type executive team meeting agendas and distribute. Interact with internal and external customers coordinating schedules, resolving problems, and handling requests for information.
  • PROGRAM COORDINATION: Research, review and evaluate all grant and loan requests made to the BNSF Hardship Program. Facilitate Hardship Program committee reviews and monitor program budget. Review and process Tuition Reimbursement requests and approve tuition expense reports
  • SPECIAL PROJECTS: Provide support as needed. Handle special projects as assigned.
