The genetic counseling assistant ( GCA ) will work closely with and under direct supervision of genetic counselors and medical geneticists who serve patients with and at risk for inherited medical conditions. This could include involvement with the Pediatric and Adult Genetics Clinics, hospital consults, and out-state genetics clinics. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: assisting in case preparation, coordinating follow-up with patients and lab personnel, contacting patients to document health and family history, completing documentation required for genetic testing and managing a list of pending genetic test results.
