About The Position

Adjunct Teaching - Theatre Sound Design (TMA 365) and Production Leads (TMA 489) Job Title: Adjunct Teaching - Theatre Sound Design (TMA 365) and Production Leads (TMA 489) Posting Close Date: November 19, 2025 NOTE: Last day to apply is Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:59pm (MST) Position Start Date: January 2, 2026 Required Degree: BA or BFA. The required degree must be completed by the start date. Experience: 2+ years theatre sound technician or audio mixing experience. 1+ years university-teaching experience in one or more theatre design and technology disciplines (scenic, lighting, costumes, sound, makeup, and/ or media design) preferred. We also are interested in reviewing applications from candidates who have accomplished notable teaching outside of university settings. Duties/Expectations: Design for theatre season productions as needed. Teach the following classes: TMA 365 Design Practicum, TMA 489 Production Leads. Mentor student designers through the theatre design process on theatre season productions as needed, including attending some technical rehearsals with students. This will require meetings at 8:00 am weekdays, and evening and weekend rehearsals. Perform some administrative duties related to the sound area as needed.
