Help students meet learning objectives when teaching CPSE 300 Exceptional Students: Principles of Collaboration, through instruction and other methods, observe and evaluate student performance, and address academic or professional concerns. The primary focus of this course is on the basic principles and legislative foundations of special education, including effective communication and collaboration with professionals, parents, and other service providers to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities in inclusive educational environments. The course also covers eligibility/qualification criteria used to determine whether a student qualifies for special education services, as well as an examination of the different disability categories recognized under IDEA. Must be available to teach in person on Wednesdays at 4:00pm -5:50pm on campus for Winter semester, January 7-April 15, 2026.

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Special Education or related discipline. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Relevant applied experience in a professional setting.

  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Must align with doctrines and teachings declared by living prophets, seers, and revelators
  • Must demonstrate intentionality in building faith in Jesus Christ and testimony of His restored gospel among students and others in the BYU community
  • Must teach subject matter with the Spirit of God and strive to keep it bathed in the light and color of the restored gospel
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
