About The Position

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES (EMT): Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions. 1. Any Bachelor’s degree with four (4) years of mobile intensive care paramedic experience (preferred) OR Any Associate degree with six (6) years of mobile intensive care paramedic experience; AND , 2. Current licensure, in good standing, as a Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic for the State of California OR out-of-state active Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic licensure, in good standing with eligibility for State of California Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic licensure; AND , 3. Have a minimum of four (4) years of academic or clinical experience in the practice of a mobile intensive care paramedic in the past five (5) years; AND , 4. Within the last two (2) years, teaching experience in the practice of emergency medical care; AND , 5. Have taken ONE (1) of the following courses: Fire Instructor 1A and 1B, UC/ CSU 60 hour Techniques of Teaching Course; National Fire Academy Fire Service Instructional Methodology Course or completed four (4) semester units of upper division credit in educational materials, methods and curriculum development; AND . 6. Current certification as a BLS Instructor, ACLS Instructor and PHTLS Instructor; AND , 7. Knowledge of the State of California Code of Regulations Title 22 relating to EMT -1 training, certification, and scope of practice; AND , 8. Knowledge of the San Diego County Office of Emergency Medical Services Policy and Procedures as related to EMT -1 practice.
