About The Position

Newman University, a mission-driven, catholic, liberal arts university, is recruiting adjuncts to teach courses and/or supervise students within the clinical setting with an emphasis on simulation-based methodologies for our Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and during the 2026-2027 academic year. Minimum qualifications include a Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree and appropriate registries. Requirements

  • RDMS and RVT are required.
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography Degree Required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the field for 5 years preferred.
  • Experience in clinical education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses appropriate to academic qualifications.
  • Maintain high standards as teachers and engaging students in laboratory and/or clinical educational settings.
  • Inform students of their progress by promptly returning graded assignments, quizzes, and examinations with appropriate feedback.
  • Utilize the Learning Management Systems, i.e. Canvas, and other technology as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain clinical education content for assigned course(s).
  • Supervise clinical activities effectively and assess educational outcomes appropriately.
  • Delivers course content and fulfills instructional responsibilities in accordance with the direction and expectations established by the Program Director.
  • Consult with the Dean or DMS Program Director regarding concerns.
  • Complete university-required training courses and other duties as assigned.
