The School of Nursing is seeking candidates for an adjunct teaching position in the graduate programs. The University is seeking an individual capable of excellent teaching. Responsibilities begin August 2025 and will include teaching a wide variety of courses in the graduate programs.

Requirements

  • MSN required, Ph.D. in Nursing/DNP preferred
  • Evidence of a commitment to excellence in (undergraduate/graduate) teaching.
  • Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university.
  • Supportive of the religious and educational goals of the university and its sponsoring denomination.
  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
  • faculty agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching students from diverse backgrounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in the area of the graduate programs including some general education and service courses.
  • Adjuncts must have knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching graduate level, including ways to instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students as well as the ability to write syllabi and deliver illustrated lectures.
  • Successful candidate will work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, parents and community members.
  • Engage in personal scholarship and scholarship with students (where possible)
  • Advise students academically, spiritually, and socially
  • Participate in departmental activities and governance
  • Serve on university faculty committees/working groups and perform other normal faculty duties
  • Contribute in preparing students for their post graduate career and finding who they are called to be
