The successful applicant will work under the direction of Dr. Robert Davis working on the development of carbon nanotube-based micro-gas chromatography (µGC) separation columns, specifically spearheading the microfluidic encapsulation and interfacing strategies. The role involves overseeing the end-to-end fabrication process, including directing undergraduate researchers in photolithographic design, carbon nanotube growth, and column performance testing protocols. While providing high-level guidance on experimental validation, the primary technical contribution focuses on engineering and iterating novel hermetic packaging solutions to transition delicate MEMS structures into robust, testable devices.
