About The Position

The HAPI-DNA genetic genealogy lab (led by Dr. Amy Williams) in the Computer Science department at Brigham Young University has an opening for an adjunct researcher. Immediate research opportunities include developing a method to analyze large genetic datasets to find identity-by-descent (IBD) segments that descend from a common ancestor of four or more individuals.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Strong quantitative and programming experience as well as the ability to process large scale data sets are essential skills.

  • This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
