About The Position

Sullivan University is looking for an Adjunct Radiology Instructor to teach at our Dupont Campus. Adjunct faculty members report to their respective Dean; however, they may have a dotted line reporting responsibility to a specified Department/Program Director or General Education Chair. Adjunct faculty members are student-centered, teaching mentors who assist students to progress through their academic programs to completion. Essentially, the adjunct faculty member's responsibilities involve instruction and assessment of student learning. This position will primarily be Monday-Friday with some evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred in health-related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must hold a current ARRT in Radiologic Technology and a current KY Radiologic Operator's license.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines.
  • Ability to function efficiently in a stressful work environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel to multiple locations as dictated by the course schedule.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, as well as to move about the campus.
  • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty, and staff face to face, via telephone, and through electronic mediums.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates student learning within face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or HyFlex learning environments.
  • Delivers effective and career-relevant instruction, providing an environment conducive to learning.
  • Evaluates student learning for all assigned classes, responds to student inquiries, and grades all assignments in a timely manner.
  • Engages students using instructional techniques such as collaborative learning, experiential learning, and/or problem-based learning.
  • Delivers course curriculum utilizing the University's learning management system.
  • Participates in course and program level learning assessments, helping define student learning outcomes and evaluating student performance.
  • Works with the Dean, Department Chair, and/or Program Director in the development and revision of course maps and course materials.
  • Schedules, supervises, debriefs, and evaluates students in clinical, externship, observation, field experience, and similar settings.
  • Participates in student retention efforts, reaching out to students with excessive absences and documenting retention activities.
  • Communicates availability to all students via email, phone, or other personal contact.
  • Encouraged to attend graduation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
