About The Position

The Department of Urban Studies at Worcester State University seeks to fill an adjunct position starting Fall 2025, in public budgeting and financial management. The department houses three master's degree programs including: A Master of Science in Nonprofit Management, a Master of Public Administration and Policy, and a Master of Public Management. The instructor would be expected to teach courses in Financial Management to nonprofit and public management students, and Public Budgeting and Financial Management to students in the public administration and policy program. The graduate programs run in the evening from Monday to Thursday, and each course runs once a week either in-person, online or in blended format. The ideal candidate will be committed to instruction at the graduate level that recognizes differences in learning styles among students from multiple academic disciplines, and multicultural and multigenerational experiences. Students in the graduate programs are typically non-accountants, and the instructor would be expected to adapt and distill course content to that audience.
