Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach ENGR 241: Probability and Statistics with Data Science Applications during the Summer 2026 semester. ENGR 241 is a foundational course within the Stevens Design Spine and supports the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science’s commitment to developing engineering mastery, interdisciplinary problem-solving, technical proficiency, and effective communication skills. The course introduces probability and statistical methods for engineering applications, including descriptive statistics, probability theory, random variables, normal distributions, central limit theorem, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and least squares linear regression. Students apply these concepts using a contemporary data science programming language. Each section requires approximately 8–10 hours per week, including instruction, preparation, grading, and course coordination. The instructor will teach under the direction of the Program Director and collaborate with the course coordinator to ensure alignment with established learning outcomes. This is a fixed-term appointment for Summer 2026. Future instructional opportunities may be considered based on programmatic needs and enrollment.
