About The Position

Cumberland University's Oakley School for the Humanities, Education, and the Arts is seeking applicants for the position of Adjunct Professor in Psychology. This part-time faculty appointment involves teaching responsibilities of 3 to 20 hours per week, with a maximum of 9 credit hours of class time. The role is designed to enhance program strength, course offerings, and student opportunities under the supervision of the Program Director and Dean. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to design and assess curriculum plans that foster rigorous student learning and engagement, particularly in developing essential skills in adult learners such as writing and communication.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Psychology or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• Documentation of successful experience as an undergraduate professor or post-secondary teacher.
• Evidence of leadership experiences and work in the field.

Responsibilities

• Engage in class and student assessment while maintaining all necessary paperwork and records based on Program Director requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues in both program and field advancement activities such as research involvement and clinical outreach.
• Show evidence of successful supervision of internships in the field.
• Demonstrate interpersonal/intrapersonal skills, especially in engaging with traditional and non-traditional university students.
• Provide evidence of high level of personal agency and initiative.
• Demonstrate organizational skills for curriculum management and program design including analysis of data for continuous improvement.
• Contribute positively to a dynamic setting with collaborative faculty.
