About The Position

The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University invites applications for one or more Adjunct Professors in Accounting, beginning January 2026. These are part-time, non-tenure track teaching appointments. The successful candidates will teach one or more sections of Accounting Analytics (ACC 452/652). Other courses may be available depending on candidate qualifications. The Accounting Analytics course is offered at the undergraduate (ACC 452) and graduate level (ACC 652), and sections may be scheduled during the day or evening. The class will be conducted using Alteryx

Requirements

  • Experience working with datasets including data cleansing, parsing, joining and transformation.
  • Experience using Alteryx (Alteryx certification and any related certifications will be heavily weighted).
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in accounting courses.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Master's degree or higher in Accounting or a closely related field.
  • Significant prior teaching experience at the college/university level.
  • Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, or equivalent).
  • Relevant professional or industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned sections of ACC 452/652.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in person (with possible hybrid or online options as needed).
  • Prepare course materials, assessments, and maintain grading standards consistent with departmental policies.
  • Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
