About The Position

The Biola University Communication Studies department is accepting applications for a part-time instructor(s) to teach courses in the following areas: COMM 200 - The Rhetorical Act, COMM 272 - The History of Communication, COMM 281 - Argumentation & Debate, and COMM 473 - Rhetorical Criticism. This position involves developing student understanding of rhetoric as the foundation to all effective communication, providing historical and interdisciplinary analysis of communication studies, and teaching effective oral communication skills.

Requirements

• MA or PhD in Communication Studies.
• Prior teaching experience in Communication is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach COMM 200 - The Rhetorical Act, focusing on rhetoric as the foundation of effective communication.
• Teach COMM 272 - The History of Communication, analyzing the development of communication studies theories and practices.
• Teach COMM 281 - Argumentation & Debate, covering effective oral communication techniques.
• Teach COMM 473 - Rhetorical Criticism, discussing major theories of rhetorical and public address.
