About The Position

The Department of Chemistry is seeking part-time faculty to teach lower-division laboratories and lectures. Applications for this pool are accepted continuously, and candidates will be contacted when a position becomes available. Based on their length of service, part-time faculty can become eligible for benefits such as health insurance, retirement contributions, and tuition remission. For Spring and Summer 2024, compensation is $2101 per unit.

Requirements

• PhD in relevant discipline or teaching experience preferred for lecturer positions
• Graduate students and candidates with PhDs considered for lab instructor positions

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly lab instructor meetings
• Deliver short pre-lab lectures
• Supervise students during experiments
• Grade assignments
• Hold remote office hours
• Responsible for the entire class as a lecturer
• Address course learning outcomes set by the Chemistry Department
• Deliver content flexibly and evaluate student learning
• Utilize selected course textbook and available resources
