Job Summary: Instructional, teacher education position at either of our Regional Centers (Mission Valley or Bakersfield) and/or our Online Program. Salary: PLNU adjunct pay: Using a 3-unit full semester appointment as a pay guide, the adjunct pay range is $5,013 - $6,684.The units will determine the actual salary. Job Status: Part time

Requirements

  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
  • faculty agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant
  • Evidence of high moral and ethical standards and a willingness to participate in and contribute to an intentional university Christian community.
  • Evidence of a minimum of five years of highly successful experience in K-12 settings.
  • Knowledge of Common Core design, implementation and assessment.
  • Evidence of valid California credential.
  • Proven expertise as a K-12 teacher/counselor/administrator working with diverse student populations.
  • Evidence of strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to model current instructional pedagogy and practices such as RTI, restorative justice, positive behavior intervention strategies, project-based learning.
  • Proven ability, flexibility and willingness to teach a range of evening classes.
  • Willingness to significantly support the university's mission and the School of Education's vision and goals for teaching, learning and spiritual formation.
  • Ability to use the course learning management system (Canvas) and assessment program (SL&L).
  • Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Evidence of active participation in professional educational organizations.
  • The job offer is contingent on the successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate-level courses (one day a week F2F, Mondays through Thursdays from 4:30 to 9:00 PM or online) in the following areas: Teacher Preparation, Special Education, School Administration, School Counseling, Adult Education and Leadership, Research Methods
