The Department of Music is seeking candidates for adjunct teaching positions in music. The University is seeking an individual capable of excellent teaching. Responsibilities begin September 2025 and will include teaching a wide variety of courses in music.

Requirements

• Masters in a specified discipline from an accredited college.
• Commitment to teaching excellence required.
• Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
• Ability to learn relevant sections of Point Loma Nazarene University's online integrated database system for student grading.
• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
• faculty agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.
• The job offer is contingent on the successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Doctorate preferred.
• A minimum of one year teaching experience in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjuncts must have knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching undergraduate level, including ways to instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students.
