About The Position

Clinical nursing faculty responsible for supervision of pre-licensure clinical course in accordance with the course syllabi and College of Nursing and affiliate agency guidelines.

Requirements

• Masters prepared nurse with a minimum of two years clinical experience.
• Licensure with the State of Louisiana or compact RN license.
• Minimum of two years of experience in specialty area.
• Possesses qualities of integrity, initiative, and good judgment with high ethical standards.
• Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with others.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach a critical care clinical course for pre-licensure nursing majors.
• Assume and fulfill teaching responsibilities commensurate with the position by meeting with the course lead or level coordinator on a regular basis to discuss clinical course objectives, grading criteria, student's progress, etc.; accepting designated assignments related to clinical teaching inclusive of direct and indirect patient care assignments and supervision of virtual and simulated learning.
• Additionally, clinical faculty assist in supervising student's progress, completion of clinical competency skills checklists, and a make-up clinical day within the semester; clinical faculty also assume responsibility for improving clinical teaching ability; consulting with course leads or level coordinator prior to initiating changes in the clinical course syllabus.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of a sound educational program designed to meet the outcomes of the specified course and level.
• Submits grades, grade book, early alerts, incomplete grade forms, and attendance in accordance with university policies and procedures.
• Complies with the Dillard University Faculty Handbook and Dillard University College of Nursing Bylaws.
