About The Position

The Department of Education at Regis College seeks an Adjunct Faculty member beginning in the fall 2026 semester. The selected faculty member will act as a Program Supervisor for our undergraduate students (and potentially graduate students in the spring semester) throughout the school year. During the fall semester, the selected faculty member will teach two sections of Pre-Practicum. This will require observing students a minimum of two times in their field placements and facilitating biweekly seminars (typically Monday or Tuesday afternoons). In the spring semester, the selected faculty member will have two sections of Practicum and one section of Seminar. The seminar courses are taken in conjunction with practicum and examine curriculum, instruction, and human behavior in PK-12 classrooms. The practicum course has students engaged in a student teaching model where they spend a minimum of 300 hours in a classroom. Instructor observations, documentation via the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education CAP system are required. A minimum of a master’s degree and 5+ years of teaching experience is required. Additionally, experience as a Supervising Practitioner for Elementary and Secondary undergraduate students as well as graduate students in the field on Moderate Disabilities PK- 8 and 5-12 is preferred. All course offerings are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment. Please note that courses are to be taught in-person on the Weston, MA campus.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching in the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education public-school educator in the PK-12 Massachusetts public school system
  • Knowledge of curriculum development based on Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirements
  • Knowledge of and experience using the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Candidate Assessment Portfolio (CAP)
  • Hold MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education valid licensure in a minimum of one of the following areas: Early Childhood (PK-2) and/or Elementary (1-6) Moderate Disabilities (PK-8 and/or 5-12) English and/or History (5-8 or 8-12)
  • An earned master’s degree in a discipline related to education
  • Complete a successful Background Record Check as requested by any district or school setting
  • Ability to uphold the university’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Supervising Practitioner for Elementary and Secondary undergraduate students as well as graduate students in the field on Moderate Disabilities PK- 8 and 5-12 is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach on campus face-to-face courses
  • Keep course curriculum current and relevant to today’s classroom curriculum
  • Supervise student teachers during their practicum experience, during the school day, in person in PK-12 school settings a minimum of two times in ED350, ED401 P, and ED403P
  • Complete all MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) licensure requirements and documentation, including utilizing the CAP observation system
  • Carry out other functions as may be appropriate to the position
  • Observe students during their practicum placements and document their growth as evidenced by alignment with the Professional Standards of Teachers and MA Curriculum Frameworks.
