The Department of Humanities at Regis College seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach the course ID-234, Digital Scholarship. This course is a key component of the Humanities Major, and will be conducted face-to-face, Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:30-10:45, at the Regis College Weston Campus. This course will focus on the process of learning, and then applying, the various methodologies of digital scholarship, with an emphasis on the humanities/social sciences. The course readings, workshops, and discussions will be aimed at exposing students to the (sometime competing) philosophies and the (quickly evolving) practices of this emerging field. Beyond course readings on designing, interpreting, and understanding digital media, students will also critically engage with and use a range of digital tools and resources. In the spirit of 'crowd sourcing' and the public-spirited nature of digital scholarship, students will take on the responsibility of teaching each other about digital tools over the course of the semester. Students will also be required to propose, design, and implement a project using the methods and theories of digital scholarship. The instructor has the freedom to construct a syllabus and decide on course content in consultation with the department Chair.
