Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled. Lansing Community College's Technical Careers Division provides over 30 innovative program areas. Our collaborative and flexible team environment works with the local, regional, and national community for the success of every student. We believe in each other and find joy in our work, never stop learning or growing and we are guided by strong character, ethics, and integrity. We make a difference. Our dedication to diversity, inclusion, and universal access underscores our commitment to fostering an inclusive educational culture. If you seek an opportunity to work with a great team of faculty and staff committed to student success in a professionally driven environment, then consider the following opportunity. Adjunct and Lab Instructors at the Mid-Michigan Police Academy are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in alignment with the standards set by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES). Applicants must be MCOLES certified or previously MCOLES certified and prepared to teach a broad range of law enforcement subjects, including but not limited to: Court Functions, Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), Legal Report Writing, Special Investigations, the Motor Vehicle Code (MVC), and Crash Reports/UD-10. Instruction will primarily take place in traditional, face-to-face classroom settings, although online components may be incorporated as needed. In addition to serving as adjunct faculty, the selected candidate will also be appointed as a part-time lab instructor for the Police Academy. Please note that compensation rates differ for adjunct and lab instructor roles. Under the direction of the Police Academy Coordinator, instructors will collaborate with lead instructors to provide classroom and lab instruction. Responsibilities include assisting students, supporting instructional activities, preparing and maintaining instructional spaces, and evaluating student performance when required. Instructors are expected to tailor their teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs while fostering a respectful, inclusive, and safe educational environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to supporting the College's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives as part of their role within the Police Academy. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support the Academy's overall operations. Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
