This course provides strategies for incorporating rich art experiences for young children in a variety of settings. Participants will work with art materials and consider the contribution of art to children's learning and development. Topics to be discussed include: setting up art areas; selecting, presenting, and storing materials; planning a meaningful sequence of art experiences; how to make appropriate comments on children's work; and ways to make art an integral part of the curriculum. Seeking an experienced educator to design and facilitate this graduate-level course. The audience is educators of children 3 - 8 years old with varying years of experience, in a variety of settings. This class is offered for 1 graduate credit or as a no-credit workshop where participants can earn professional learning hours and NYS CTLE hours. The class has historically been offered at Bank Street. There is a possibility to offer additional classes that take place online through Zoom.
