About The Position

The College of Engineering at UAA is accepting applications for our adjunct instructor job pool for academic year 25-26. The incumbent will be responsible for teaching one or more courses in a manner consistent with the course content guide. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold office hours appropriate for the course(s) being taught. Applicants must be available to work within Alaska during the length of the assignment. Applicants will be evaluated on the suitability of their academic preparations, past teaching experience and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students in a manner consistent with the specific course content guidelines. Applicants must have experience relevant to teaching the specific course content. This position is located on UAA's main campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a part-time, adjunct instructor position. Minimum salaries are set by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with United Academic - Adjuncts, AAUP-AFT/AFL-CIO. Salaries may vary based on education and experience. This is a pooled position and applications are reviewed as needed. Submission of an application does not guarantee review or a job offer. This is an at-will, union represented adjunct position, and may be canceled based upon the needs of the university. This position is represented by United Academic – Adjuncts, AAUP-AFT/AFL-CIO.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be available to work within Alaska during the length of the assignment.
  • Applicants will be evaluated on the suitability of their academic preparations, past teaching experience and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students in a manner consistent with the specific course content guidelines.
  • Applicants must have experience relevant to teaching the specific course content.
  • MA/MS in Engineering or a related field, unless an exception has been approved by the College of Engineering Dean.
  • Exceptions may be made in other circumstances when prospective faculty have special professional credentials and experience.
  • To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Applicants who now or may in the future require visa sponsorship to work in the United States are not eligible.
