About the position
Denmark Technical College seeks to build a pool of qualified applicants for adjunct (temporary, part-time) positions to teach various courses. Applications will be reviewed on an as needed basis. We are seeking applications for the following positions: Adjunct CNA Instructor, Adjunct PCT Instructor, Adjunct Phlebotomy Tech Instructor, Adjunct EKG Instructor, Adjunct EMT Instructor, Adjunct CPR/BLS/ALS/AED/First Aid Instructor, Adjunct Medical Assisting Instructor, Adjunct Medical Billing/Coding Instructor, Adjunct Bookkeeping Instructor, Adjunct Climbing Instructor, Adjunct Welding Instructor, Adjunct Culinary Arts, Adjunct HVAC Instructor, Adjunct Nuclear Fundamentals Instructor, Adjunct Industrial Maintenance Instructor, Adjunct Plumbing Instructor, Adjunct Sewing Instructor, Adjunct Lineworker Instructor. Under general supervision of the Director of Workforce Development and program coordinator, must be able to act under excellent professional judgement and discretion applying all relevant state, federal, college, and licensure policies, procedures, and regulations. To provide instruction including hands-on and theory, supervision of students, classroom management, clinical supervision (as applicable), as well as administrative tasks that may include: reports, syllabus and lesson plan development, development of student materials, laboratory experiences, formative and summative evaluations, and work experiences. Courses are offered throughout the year; start dates and times will vary according to the course offering.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction including hands-on and theory.
- Supervise students and manage classrooms.
- Conduct clinical supervision as applicable.
- Complete administrative tasks including reports and syllabus development.
- Develop student materials and laboratory experiences.
- Conduct formative and summative evaluations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned program areas and industry.
- Complete administrative tasks to maintain student and class records.
- Support program accreditation and recognition.
- Provide high-quality instructional experiences to prepare students for certification/licensure or personal enrichment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by program coordinator or Director.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Five (5) years of experience in program field required.
- Must have a current valid driver's license class D, and/or class A.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the area of employment.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all common working conditions (A/C, heat, rain, etc.).
- Occasional overnight travel in and out of state, regular in-state travel.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, squat.
