About The Position

The Teacher Education Department at Shippensburg University invites applicants for our temporary adjunct pool in teacher education for either in person and/or online courses in our PK-4 and Middle Level education program. We are seeking instructors to teach both day and evening courses. Online courses can be synchronous or asynchronous. Course openings may include child development (ECED 204, 205 and 206), assessment courses (ECED 370), science and math methods (ECED 373), technology instruction (ECED 394), and foundations in secondary education (TEED 207). Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Master's degree in a teacher education-related field (Early Childhood Education, Middle Level Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership or Literacy/Reading) from an accredited institution of higher education and hold a license to teach in the state in one or more grade levels noted above.
  • Must have at least three years teaching one or more grade levels spanning preschool through grade 8 in a Pennsylvania school.
  • A transcript is required and should indicate completion of teacher education programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels with at least a 3.0 GPA at the graduate level.
  • As part of a successful on-campus interview process, candidates will be expected to provide a demonstration of teaching effectiveness and evidence of understanding diverse populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate and at least one year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent, experience working with diverse learners is preferred.
