About The Position

Normandale Community College is seeking Adjunct Instructors to join our Social Sciences Departments. Normandale’s Social Sciences departments that will need adjunct instructors are: Anthropology, Communication, Economics, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. We believe in supporting a quality education experience that provides learning opportunities for our diverse student body. Normandale Community College is striving to achieve racial equity in educational outcomes. Those hired into these positions will be expected to advance this goal through culturally responsive teaching, identifying barriers to success for students of color, and proposing effective solutions to eliminate those barriers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with a major in the Social Sciences field you are applying for or Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in Social Sciences field you are applying for.

  • Experience teaching courses with innovative teaching practices to support the success and retention of underrepresented students, including students of color, first-generation students, and Pell eligible students
  • Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegial activities - service on committees, developing assessment, and guiding students
