About The Position

The Adjunct Instructor of Business at Holy Cross College is a vital role within the Business Department, responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in various business disciplines. The position requires teaching up to two face-to-face courses each semester, covering subjects such as management, finance, communication, organizational behavior, human resources, international business, business law, and strategy. The instructor will lead two 75-minute in-class sessions each week for a duration of 16 weeks, starting in the spring semester of 2025. This role is not only about imparting knowledge but also about shaping future business leaders who possess a strong ethical foundation and critical reasoning skills, in alignment with the college's mission to educate and form global citizens. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the instructor will host regular office hours both on campus and online to provide additional support to students. They will also play a crucial role in supporting partnerships for student programming, which may include extracurricular internships, seminars, and competitions. The instructor is expected to engage in core administrative functions, such as providing timely feedback to students, conducting course assessments, and reporting midterm and final grades within three days of the course's conclusion. Weekly attendance reporting is also a requirement of this position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for undergraduate teaching and a commitment to a Catholic liberal arts education. They should excel at delivering an interdisciplinary curriculum that bridges business concepts with liberal arts and Catholic Social Teaching, creating innovative and experiential learning opportunities that reinforce the college's mission. Previous teaching experience at the college level and a positive work history in a Catholic college environment are preferred, along with the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
