Each department at the University of Wisconsin – Stout can maintain an ongoing search to serve as a pool of potential instructors for program needs. If hired from this pool, the instructor will be under the general supervision of the relevant department chair. The instructor is responsible for teaching courses as assigned . T eaching involves preparing for and holding classes in the modality assigned, maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, providing regular and substantive feedback on student work, maintaining appropriate records , and holding office hours. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean. The ( OPDE) program is a collaboration between the Teaching, Learning, and Leadership Department and Stout Online at UW-Stout. The OPDE program offers fully online , graduate level professional development courses and certificate programs designed for working adults and educators seeking to advance their careers in areas such as Instructional Design, Mathematics Instruction, and Reading Instruction. Many OPDE courses can be applied towards teaching license renewal or used as electives for UW-Stout degree programs.
