Instructor needed for PHY 103 Physics Today. Physics Today helps curious Liberal Arts students to become aware of, and to appreciate, their physical environment. The basics concepts of classical mechanics, thermodynamics, wave motion, electricity, magnetism, optics, and modern physics are covered. The emphasis is on the relationship between physics and everyday life. This class consists of both lecture and lab components, so the instructor is responsible for preparing demonstrations in class and laboratory activities for students. Class sizes are typically small, with less than 10 students each. Classes are delivered in-person in a face-to-face format on Mondays and Thursdays, so this position requires in-person presence. The fall semester, during which the classes will be taught, runs from August 23 through December 13. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting classes in accordance with Cecil College approved syllabi and the stipulations of the department. The successful candidate will also be responsible for meeting every scheduled class, including the final examination, for the full number of scheduled minutes in the room assigned. Any changes in meeting place or time must be reported to the Office of Academic Programs prior to the class meeting.
