About The Position

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated candidate for its Adjunct Phlebotomy Instructor (Part-Time) positions in the Health and Public Safety Technologies department of the Academic & Student Affairs Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College's Main campus, just South of downtown Atlanta, Ga. Under general supervision of the Dean of Health and Public Safety Technologies, the Adjunct Phlebotomy Instructors will be part-time faculty member that teach in the Phlebotomy Technician program. The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students develop essential Phlebotomist skills. This position involves creating and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall success of the students. Through classroom, lab, and clinical instruction, the Adjunct Phlebotomy Instructors will ensure students gain the comprehensive skills, knowledge, and professionalism required for success as entry-level Phlebotomists. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. Flexible hours may include weekdays and weekends. These are part-time positions, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Requirements

  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in phlebotomy, medical assisting or related health field.
  • Two (2) or more years of directly related work experience.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in phlebotomy or related subjects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Oral and written communication
  • Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
  • Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
  • Skill in presenting subject matter
  • Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
  • Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
  • Knowledge of student information systems

Nice To Haves

  • Current phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, NCCT, or equivalent)
  • Three (3) or more years of recent phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience
  • Experience in a technical college setting is a plus.
  • May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and demonstrate phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, capillary puncture, specimen handling, and infection control.
  • Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on lab instruction aligned with program curriculum.
  • Evaluate student performance through exams, skills assessments, and clinical supervision.
  • Provide feedback, mentorship and guidelines to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and program accreditation standards; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
