About the position

Ohio University's Regional Campuses are seeking a part-time instructor to teach in person Social Work courses at the undergraduate level. The exact number of Instructors needed is undetermined at this time as it is primarily dependent upon enrollments and overall student demand. When a need arises, the department will select qualified candidates from this pool. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach the following in-person sections: Eastern in the fall: SW 3701 (Dynamics of Human Behavior), Eastern in the spring: SW 3801 (Introduction to Social Work Practice Methods), Zanesville in the fall: SW4921 (Field Seminar I) and SW 4923 (Field Practicum I), Zanesville in the spring: SW 4924 (Field Practicum II). Online options may become available.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate Social Work courses in person.
  • Integrate field experience with coursework and personal reflection.
  • Develop effective social work communication and practice skills.
  • Critique and apply knowledge from multiple sources in social work assessment.

Requirements

  • A Master's of Social Work (MSW) degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Two years post-MSW practice experience.
  • A current social work license or eligibility for licensure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Licensed Independent or Clinical Social Worker.
  • Social work practice/teaching experience in rural areas.
  • Evidence of teaching at the undergraduate level.
